I want to express my thanks and appreciation for the wonderful treatment and care that was shown to me during my recent mitral valve surgery. I was very nervous and daunted by the fear of the unknown, but everyone was so kind and reassuring which took away a lot of my apprehension. Everyone demonstrated such commitment and care in the days immediately following my operation, which gave me the support and encouragement I needed to take my first steps on the road to my rehabilitation.
 
I’d like to particularly thank the doctors and surgical team for their expertise in the operating room and for their post-operative support.
 
Thanks to everyone, in the six short months since my surgery, I am able to fully participate in all my regular activities without the concerns I had prior to my surgery. Without your help, this would have not been possible so you can imagine how grateful I am.

John Richardson Jr., M.D.

John Richardson Jr., M.D. received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama after attending Auburn University for his undergraduate degree. He did his internship and his residency in General Surgery at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Richardson completed his surgical training with a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital. In 1989 he and his family moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he joined Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons, P.C.. His Board Certifications include The American Board of Surgery 1988 and The American Board of Thoracic Surgery 1990.
